Mayor Myrick says 110 Ithaca residents will receive $450 a month for a year in Guaranteed Income pilot

Guaranteed Income or Universal Basic Income is the concept of providing funding to people to help with, or cover, basic necessities, with no expectation of labor or anything else in return. Mayor Svante Myrick announced Thursday afternoon that the City of Ithaca will participate in a pilot program that will pay $450 per month for a year to 110 caregivers who live in the City. “We’ve raised private funds to deliver this pilot,” the Mayor says.
