Artists and arts workers across the country are set to be receive €325 each week for three years in a new pilot scheme.
Over 2,000 Irish people have been chosen to receive the income for the arts programme.
Announcing the news this week, Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin said the launch of this scheme was an "historic day for the arts in Ireland".
