I disagree with this point. UBI will make Americans less stressed in general and have more time to read up on politics. This should in turn drive more people to be politically involved and have the money to contribute to candidates. The current issue has been one of disenfranchising the average American so they do not have time to get fully politically involved so media sound bites can more easily influence them.
If anything, UBI would make for a stronger democracy.
