A recent study by the McKinsey Global Institute predicts that around 12 million American workers may need to switch jobs by the year 2030. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI), an aging population, and the impact of e-commerce on employment are the key factors driving this shift.
Unlike the voluntary job changes observed during the “Great Resignation,” the study suggests that approximately 11.8 million workers will be compelled to change careers out of necessity rather than choice. Out of these workers, around nine million individuals may have to transition to entirely different industries.
