Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang is promoting the idea of a “Universal Basic Income” or UBI, also known as the “Freedom Dividend.” There was recently a book along these lines called “Give People Money” by Annie Lowrey.
This is basically the correct answer to many of our problems. Because of automation, computers, robots, artificial intelligence, etc., workers are being replaced by machines. There is ultimately no other way to keep people alive in such a world, except to give them money.
