Cyborg control: robots could cost up to 15m jobs in the UK in the next 20 to 30 years Each robot working in Britain’s factories has cost the equivalent of 3.6 jobs, according to the first study of the impact of modern automation on employment.
The research implies that the 18,500 robots deployed in vehicle manufacturing and other industries have already displaced about 66,000 posts.
