Every citizen should have a guaranteed amount of money per month, regardless of property, work or other status – that is the guiding principle behind the terms unconditional or universal basic income. It has moved back into the spotlight in recent years after celebrities from Silicon Valley such as Tesla founder Elon Musk, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter’s Jack Dorsey supported each other.
